okay so far i can give u some tips~
remember to always click the master slide 1st.(for applying to all pages)
dun mistaken between click the pages only (won't apply to all pages)
How to change background colour?(forgive me,i'm newbie)
go to window > swatches (if u have it on right side then no need :P)
then find the one with the name "paper" double click on it then u can change the colour from there

select ur text
then press shift+ctrl+0 or use the Selection tool to select a text frame, or use the Type tool to select one or more characters.
